Next Monday we will release our latest video showing our progress. Here we are filming in the beautiful Elqui valley before meeting with children from a local school who will participate in the “Fantastical Mind Creatures of Chile” project.
We are currently defining the “DNA Essence” of Cute Monsters for our evolution modeling process, an important aspect of our Monster Dreamer Machine. David Sanhueza, a veteran 3D games artist, is now working with us to help us understand the fundamental essence and structure of a good monster model. After coding the “DNA Essence” of a monster we mutate the formula over progressive evolutions directed by the EEG patterns from the brain.
Welcome to Thinker Things 2013, probably our most exciting year. Today we started working with the Chilean Government on the realization of the Monster Dreamer. Their “Start Up Chile program” is credited in sources such as the New York Times and The Economist as a major contributor to what is now being called “Chilecan Valley” and the emergence of a new entrepreneurial spirit in Chile. What better way to demonstrate Thinker Things contribution to this phenomenon than release a new video from last months Maker Faire Santiago, a weekend in which we could share our work with the Chilean public. Look out for the mind controlled Ouija board we made especially for the event.

Thinker Things new Chilean CTO. George Laskowsky. George joins us with a wealth of experience that is perfect for our crazy projects. A veteran console games engineer, in his early years, George, was a research assistant in charge of high energy particle experiments. He´s just completed several Stanford Online courses on AI and Machine Learning in order to get his vacuum cleaner to tidy up his flat on its own. He also looks great on camera and speaks, not only better Spanish, but better English than our British Creative Director. Welcome George.
Thinker Thing has been selected from over 1400 applicants to participate in the prestigious global accelerator program, “Start Up Chile”. Start-Up Chile is a program created by the Chilean Government that seeks to attract early-stage high potential entrepreneurs to bootstrap their startups using Chile as a platform to go global, in line with the national goal of converting Chile into the innovation and entrepreneurship hub of Latin America. Start-Up Chile has been featured in The Economist, BusinessWeek, TechCrunch, and Forbes, among others.
